Loved hearing that Walter Mondale switched to support Obama as Hillary "claims" she'll concede...on Saturday.
Timing is everything as any good politician knows. So given her RFK assassination references, guess she couldn't do it tomorrow - and Friday is the anniversary of D-Day. And we all know how the Clinton's have to be the lead story. Anyway...I think she knew this all along. She and Bill couldn't stand giving Obama the limelight today - so as long as she didn't made a "decision" last night, all the news this morning would have to say "Obama claims nomination" rather than "Obama is the nominee." Entirely different message. It's dirty and it's mean. But not surprising.
And word has it that Hil won't take the VP slot - Bill would have to disclose all of his donors, which he won't do so it's a deal breaker...for her. Which brings me to my original issue with Hillary - I blogged last fall she wouldn't be the party's nominee. (And said it out loud at work by late summer, just didn't get it in writing until November.) My theory at the time was that she was doing this for him. If that's why she turns down the veep slot, I would argue my theory was correct.
